5 quick cleaning hacks that will change your life forever
New research shows that in the UK more people than ever are cleaning their homes on a daily basis. However, with lockdown restrictions easing, many won’t have that much time to remove the unwanted germs from their home.
Cleaning influencer Nicola Lewis has shared on social media her top five tricks to save time when cleaning.
These hacks will make your home look as if it has just been deep cleaned.
Shower
Limescale accumulates in the shower head on a daily basis and cleaning it can be very frustrating. Here’s a trick:
First, wrap the shower head in a plastic bag filled with white vinegar.
Then, secure it with a rubber band.
Leave it for 30 minutes and after that, your shower head will be looking shiny as you’ve never seen it before.
Carpets need to be cleaned regularly to keep them fresh.
Easily remove any bad smells from your carpet by sprinkling baking soda over the carpet using a mesh sieve.
Leave it for a few hours or overnight and then vacuum the next day.
Hallway
To remove any marks on your hallway walls, gently rub a tennis ball against it.
You will be surprised at how quickly your hallway looks like it has just been painted!
Microwave
Most people don’t enjoy cleaning the microwave, and people tend to forget about it.
However, there is an easy way to do it.
Place a bowl of water with slices of lemon and add a toothpick to prevent it from boiling.
Set the timer for three to five minutes.
This will loosen any grease and make it easier to wipe with a cloth after.
Windows
Cleaning windows is probably the most time-consuming task.
If you don’t have one yet, you might want to invest in a Kärcher window vacuum cleaner.
The Kärcher cleaner leaves windows and mirrors sparkling clean in a matter of minutes.
