About Gerald Maccioli
Gerald A. Maccioli, MD, MBA, FCCM, FASA, is Chief Medical Officer at HHS Technology Group (HTG) and serves as a Venture Partner with Big Sky Capital VC. In addition to these leadership roles, in the startup and investment realms, Dr. Maccioli brings a wealth of experience as a fractional Chief Medical Officer for emerging health tech companies, including Sympti, EmpowerHealth, and Moterum in a various stage of maturity. Previously he worked with the startups Cliexa and Rise Health.
Dr. Maccioli'ss extensive involvement in healthcare leadership extends to his service on the Board of Directors for esteemed organizations such as the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists, the NC Institute of Medicine, the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy, and the startups Sympti, and Vitruvia. His commitment to shaping the healthcare landscape is evident not only through his professional roles but also as the past Chair of the American Medical Association Committee of Innovators. Prior to his engagement in startups and investment, Dr. Maccioli held significant roles in established healthcare organizations. From 2015 to 2020, he served as the Chief Quality Officer for Envision Healthcare, with responsibility for approximately 35 million patient visits, and most recently as Vice President of Medical Affairs for the Accreditation Commission for Health Care.
A sought-after speaker, Dr. Maccioli has been invited to address audiences at state and national meetings on critical care medicine, public policy, payment reform, and quality improvement. His educational background includes fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at Duke University, a residency in Anesthesiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an Internal Medicine internship at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Maccioli has further enriched his expertise with an MBA from Auburn University.

Larry McEvoy, MD
An emergency physician, healthcare CEO, thought leader, and entrepreneur, Dr. McEvoy’s wide experience in health care and his interests at the intersection of business, biology, and health have forged his thinking about the need to evolve leadership exponentially for the challenges of the 21st century. Particularly focused on the work of innovation and stewardship in complex settings, Larry’s mission is to deepen the vigor, resilience, and sustainability of leaders, the people they lead, and the organizations they create. His firm Epidemic Leadership focuses on launching organizations, companies, and communities to exponential health and vigor—where performance, learning, and vitality rise in parallel and are abundant, infectious, sustained, and sustaining.
Dr. McEvoy is a co-founder of The Clinician Experience at PracticingExcellence.com; a co-founder of SENA Health, a health services company that supports advanced clinical care at home and cost-effective vitality in corporate environments; and a venture advisor at Two Bear Capital, a health sciences/biotech venture firm. Wiley publishing released his first book, Epidemic Leadership, How to Lead in the Era of Big Problems, in August of 2021.
From 2008 to 2012, he served as the CEO of Memorial Health System in Colorado Springs, CO, facilitating a strategic and operational turnaround, the emergence of a culture of collaboration and commitment, and Memorial’s transformation from an at-risk and unfunded municipal hospital to the threshold of its merger with the University of Colorado Health system. Prior to that, he was a senior executive and emergency physician at the Billings Clinic in Billings, MT, from 1995 to 2008. He completed his training in emergency medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN, in 1995. After earning a BA in English Writing from Carroll College (MT) in 1987, Dr. McEvoy graduated from Stanford University Medical School in 1992. He served previously as an executive-in- residence at the Center for Creative Leadership and is on the faculty of the American Association for Physician Leadership and The Governance Institute.
