Details

Join The King's Counterpoint's premiere chamber ensemble Vox Regis as we present a concert of choral masterpieces of the Spanich Renaissance in observance of All Souls.

Along with selections by Cristóbal de Morales, Alonso Lobo, & Juan Gutiérrez de Padilla, our concert will feature the incredible Officium Defunctorum, composed by Tomás Luis de Victoria in 1605 for the funeral of the Dowager Empress Maria of Austria. This six-voice setting of the Requiem Mass is considered a true masterpiece of the late Renaissance and a wonderful example of Spanish polyphony.
